We are very excited to welcome you to our production of Chicago: High School Edition!

After our auditions and casting at the end of 2022, the cast and orchestra have been involved in rehearsals from the first week of Term 1 this year; giving up time after school, on weekends and during the school holidays. For many of our students, this has been their very first experience in a musical, and it has been wonderful to see their learning through this process. It is with much excitement that we have arrived at our Production Week, and we are thrilled to welcome audiences to our performances.

It has been fantastic to work with the students and staff at St Kevin’s College in our first musical collaboration. Students from both schools have been absolutely phenomenal, bringing so much energy and dedication to the show from our first rehearsal in February and throughout the rehearsal process. It has been wonderful to see the efforts of the talented musicians, actors and crew members come together over the final weeks.

This production would not have been possible without the incredible support of so many people. We thank everyone who has been involved in bringing this production to life, in particular, the Leadership Teams and staff of both 91Ô´´ and St Kevin’s College, and of course our phenomenal Production Team, who have worked tirelessly to bring the show together. We are also grateful to our students’ families who have been unwavering in their support.

We are delighted to present our production of Chicago and we hope you enjoy the performance as much as we have enjoyed putting it together!

Principal Roles

Taylah Antonio | Roxie Hart

Taylah has been a performer ever since she could walk, influenced by her music-loving family. She has been involved with many performing arts companies across her lifetime as well as taking dance classes since age three and private singing lessons. Since starting at 91Ô´´, Taylah has been a committed member of the music department and is currently in two of 91Ô´´â€™s vocal ensembles. She also participated in 91Ô´´â€™s production of The Addams Family as an ensemble member. Taylah is overjoyed to be starring as the infamous Roxie Hart.

Melina Koukourikis | Velma Kelly

Melina has been performing since the age of three and has a strong passion for musical theatre. Over the years, she has starred in many productions as a student at her local performance school, as well as 91Ô´´â€™s 2021 production of The Addams Family as a member of the ensemble. Melina cannot wait to make her Siena musical debut, and finally return to the stage, as none other than the iconic Velma Kelly, a part that certainly calls for a true triple-threat performer.

Harry Vreugdenburg | Billy Flynn

Harry has been performing in musical theatre since Year 5, and throughout his time at high school has developed a strong passion for music and song writing. Harry performed his first major role as Javert in St Kevin's College's 2022 production of Les Misérables. Harry is also a member of the Young Australian Broadway Chorus in which he develops his skills in singing and dance. In his free time, Harry writes and composes his own music and recently composed and performed an original score for St Kevin's College's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the start of the year. Harry is thrilled to be performing as Billy Flynn in Chicago and cannot wait to show you the suave and debonair approach he has brought to the iconic role.

Benjamin Thek | Amos Hart

Ben has been performing since the age of seven with various choirs around Melbourne including the Australian Boys’ Choir and the St Patrick’s Cathedral Choir. In year five he began his journey in musical theatre, performing as Mufasa in The Lion King Jr and as Don Lockwood in Singing In The Rain Junior. He is now in Year 10 and has been taking singing lessons at school for the past four years and is excited to show off his skills as Amos Hart.

Adele Browne | Matron "Mama" Morton

Performing with Stage Left Performing Arts Company since the age of seven, Adele has contributed to nine shows in classic roles such as Mama Bear, Mrs Potts, Pirate King, Sebastian and more. In 2019, Adele played Loraine in the 91Ô´´ and Whitefriars College production of All Shook Up, as well as Morticia in the ill fated 2021 91Ô´´ production of The Addams Family. Adele has also collaborated with Harvest Reign Theatre Company for Grease the Arena Spectacular and Take the Mic for High School Musical Junior as well as multiple YABC showcases. As a VCE music student, Adele is excited to showcase her abilities in her final year of secondary education.
